In memory of my young years, when I prefered pass my day reading Harry Potter in my bedroom... A thestral as I imagined them. More looking like horses, with a really shiny skin.
No wonder these majestic beasts are so feared, though I always imagined them a bit on the draconian side (with three hardened claws instead of hoove in front legs, what with being carrion-eater and all), and they canonically have Dragon-like face and glowing white eyes.
I loved it. Thestrals are one of my favorite creatures from Harry Potter, and they are part of a long and intricate elaboration of how I am fitted with the concept of Death. Firstly the core of the Elder Wand is the hair from a thestral. And I feel more fitted with the Elder-tree, since its association with the cycle of death and rebirth, representing my many falls and risings, and how those ups and downs do not keep me from fulfilling my goals. Then there is Saturn, which is not only the regent of the Elder-tree, but also the ancient regent of Aquarius and the regent of number 7 (my lucky number!) in numerology. And to finish it with a golden key, the secondary animal associated with Elder is a raven, which belongs to the animal kingdom associated with my astrological sign (birds).
