Vortex

A sculptural collaboration with Jean-Yves Menez.
He was searching a marine spirit creature, I had my Othalar, that's how began the story of Vortex.
Menez is a good friend of mine and a great sculptor who especially works the granite. This piece had to be the first one of my "elemantary made" serie, but the project of the immersion in the river to let her sculpt the stone sadly failed. So the first one is still a project in my mind. But I'm not that sad, my othalar looks perfect on this stone, they can rest years, become a legend... The story becoming mythology ♥
The idea was to immerse the sculpture into the river, and let it sculpt inside. The othalar representing the waves of the river, would disappear into the water and literally become waves. I loved the idea. Now they're immortal, they'll rest after us (Menez and me), and you can meet the sculpture if you come to visit St Georges at Quebec ! :3
